Hey guys, so heres my first d.i.y for you guys! I thought i'd start off with a quick and easy one.
Floating candles can be a little pricey sometimes, for example from ikea a pack of 24 sells for £3.50.
What you need:
Take your tealight
Pop it out of the tin can. Some tealights will just pop out with a wiggle. If its being stubborn, warm the tin holder up with a lighter for a few seconds, and then give it another wiggle and it should pop out.
Next you want to flip it over so the metal wick holder is facing you. I popped in onto the tin holder so the wick wouldnt break or bend too much. You now need to light another candle, i used another tealight.
I would advise using a pillar candle to do this because it would be much easier.
Heres the important bit
Drip some wax over the base of the tea light, covering the metal wick holder.
This will seal the candle and stops it from taking in any water which would make it un-lightable.
Do NOT remove the metal wick holder from the bottom of the candle. It will help to keep the wick upright which will help to keep the candle lit. Just drip the wax right over it until it has sealed it enough.
I found a thin layer didnt help at all, so a thick layer of wax would work best.
Now just let the wax harden and pop it into a bowl and admire!
